My thoughts are with you and your family Mark. Sounds like your memories are vivid and good. That is a blessing. Take care.

And BTW, you were right about the cards...ALL of those images were taken in London. :)

My sincere condolences to you and your family.

It's always hard to lose someone you love, and somehow even harder during the holiday seasons.

My heart goes out to your family, Mark. It's never easy losing a loved-one, but it sounds like he had a good life and meant a great deal to a great many wonderful people. And that's no small accomplishment

He was, indeed, an amazing man (who lived an amazing life), and will be deeply missed by many (me included). Since one of my grandfathers passed away before I was born, and the other when I was only 7 or 8, he is the grandfather who had been in my life the longest by far (16 yrs.). He always had a twinkle in his eye, even when he was feeling bad or was down about something - and as recently as this Thanksgiving, he was still hitting on the ladies. Tell me that's not amazing! I feel so blessed that our son got to meet him, even though I'm sure he won't really remember him.

It's a sad feeling to realize that we now have no grandparents left between us - makes me feel quite sad and a little old.

He was an amazing man. I keep starting to list all of the great things about him, and then I realize I can't possibly get enough of them on a comment entry.

I'll just say this. I'll miss him terribly. Although I only saw him about twice a year up until the last year or so (when I saw him much more often than that when he moved closer), we were very close.

Mark, I know you feel the same, and we'll have a celebration of his life over the next few days.
