Since one of my grandfathers passed away before I was born, and the other when I was only 7 or 8, he is the grandfather who had been in my life the longest by far (16 yrs.). He always had a twinkle in his eye, even when he was feeling bad or was down about something - and as recently as this Thanksgiving, he was still hitting on the ladies. Tell me that's not amazing! I feel so blessed that our son got to meet him, even though I'm sure he won't really remember him. It's a sad feeling to realize that we now have no grandparents left between us - makes me feel quite sad and a little old. He was, indeed, an amazing man (who lived an amazing life), and will be deeply missed by many (me included).
