Free Christmas Song Downloads

Published by Mark Williams at 11:24 pm under Music

Today’s post title comes from a search term that lately has lots of people landing here. Last year, I posted a very well-received Free Christmas Song Each Day page. I posted at least one song each day, until all 19 were out there. I figured some folks reading this either a) didn’t know about that, or b) would like to be reminded. The story behind the songs also is linked from that page.

For the most part these are old, sometimes medieval tunes, sung a cappella  except for a few percussion accompaniments by the director. They are sung by an award-winning college madrigal group that just happened to include my wife. So, don’t expect the usual "Joy to the World" or "Rudolph the Red-nosed Reindeer." And don’t expect any of the more modern selections to sound like you’ve always heard.

You can listen to a clip before deciding to download the whole song. Put them on your mp3 player, burn them to a CD — I don’t care. Just enjoy (same as first link).

I still have these on my PC… and LOVE them!

    Thanks for the reminder Mark!

I enjoyed them the first time around, Mark. I still don’t have a “Christmas” playlist set up on my iPod, a situation I expect to remedy pretty darned quickly and which will feature your selections quite prominently.

    Happy Secular Holiday!
