Randomosity

Phone line down from who knows when until 11:50 p.m.
Realized it at 9:30,
After putting the boy to bed.
DSL was dead along with it.

Moved music files from random locations
To my external hard drive.
Been meaning to do that.
Centralized aural fixation.

Ate the yogurt from the cup on the desk,
Because my apple made me hungry.
It isn’t just me — I’ve Googled it.
(”apples make me hungry”)

Got a flu shot while suffering sore throat,
And one day after fever.
Was that a good idea?
I’ll find out in time for the weekend.

One day I called my wife “dude.”
Four-year-old looked at me and said,
“She’s not a dude, she’s a babe.”
The kid speaks the truth.

Too late for good judgment about content,
So here goes nothing.
Clicking “Publish” now.
Thanks for stopping by.

Hi Mark. Thanks so much for dropping by my WW entry and sharing your thoughts. I’m so glad I followed your link home!

You’ve reminded me to get my flu shot, too. I’m always game to tempt fate!

(Loved this entry, btw. Totally relatable in so many dad-like/family ways.)

Usually, my company has a nurse come to the office to give us our flu shots. This year, due to previous low interest, they’ll just reimburse us for any flu shot we get on our own. And that sucks cuz the ball is in my court now..and that’s rarely a good place for a ball to be ;)

    Tricksy appleses.

This reminds me of a writing assignment in sixth grade where we were to record our stream of consciousness. I remember later we read them alloud and another Mark, Mark Travis [he was the Travinator back then], anyway, he read his and it included a line about how the clicking of the clock was bugging him, and I wondered why I hadn’t written about the clicking. I had heard the clicking but didn’t record that thought because it seemed silly. I learned that day that there are more thoughts in my head that are worth something, instead of the nothing I thought they were. Follow? Mark, you obviously learned this as well at some point, as illustrated by today’s post.

Interesting stream. Sort of a babbling brook. And that banner pic is really messing with my head, you know. I have a few more posts to go catch up on.

Welby…you may have wasted your time on that flu shot if you have a fever now. You may have already had it.

The Flu shot is nothing more than a protein segment taken from the dead virus. There is NO WAY you can get sick from a Flu shot, because it contains no live flu virus.

You probably knew that, and I think your post alludes more to the fact that you may have wasted your time on the Flu shot.

I HATE BEING SICK. I woke up today with a hint of sore throat for the third day in a row. Tomorrow…I’m sure I’ll be hit with a full-on cold. At least I have the weekend to try to battle it.
