Librarians Don’t Sleep With Guys

Behind Benjamin is the one scene we allow him from this movie.
What is it? (click to enlarge and sharpen)
Benjamin holds up his Runts candies in the picture above. He also got a small package of Gummi Life Savers on Halloween.
At some point over the weekend he asked for his, “Gummi Light Sabers.”
Of course, I swelled with pride and laughed at the same time.
——-
Ben calls the stuffed animals he sleeps with his “guys.” One or two are not male, but these days even women refer to a mixed group as “guys,” so I’m not too concerned.
One night Ben was talking about the librarian at his (two days per week) school. Somehow we got on the topic of librarians and their sleep habits, and I suggested that maybe they have stuffed animals like his.
He looked at me with a straight face and said, “No, Daddy. Librarians don’t sleep with guys.”
I somehow kept a straight face as well and muttered something like, “Oh, OK.” Oddly enough, when I worked in I.T. at a library with men and women, I’m pretty sure Richard and Frank were the only ones who proved Benjamin wrong (but not with each other — they were only friends).
——-
Ben had a bad dream. He described it thusly:
“Jack’o'Lanterns were rolling around, and a bat was eating up the moon and the stars.”
Maybe it’s a good thing Halloween is behind us now (and that Richard and Frank are not).
——-
On that topic, however, I composed a long post called “Taking Back Halloween,” but I’m afraid now the day is too far in the past to bother. Opinions?

Thanks for my second belly laugh of the morning (I was just over at Hazel’s…) :-D
Ah, go ahead and to the Halloween post. I still have my decorations up and candy in the bowl.
Still no Episode 1? What in there is less kid-friendly than the original trilogy?
Course, maybe I dont have room to talk. We were not as diligent as I would have imagined about keeping horror movies away from the tv this Hallowen season. Norah showed little interest in them so we caught ourselves more than once with inappropriate content on the screen. We stayed away from the gory slasher stuff and went with the scares that needed more context to be scary, but still. The only truly creepy thing about the experiment was that Norah WAS interested in the screams. She felt no need to look away from her toys, but when Janet Leigh let loose, Little Lutine would distratedly mimic the sound. “Aaaaaah,” she would monotone while putting a hat on her stuffed bear. I’m sure she’ll be talking to a counselor about it soon.
Also, I say post it. I’m still in the Hallowen Spirit.
It’s too dark to see what’s on the TV….
but sure, post it.. I’d love to see it.
I think they had Pod races in more than one movie in the new trilogy, and I’m not sure which one this is from. They have a video arcade game that has the same bars and uses the same action as the Pod racers. It’s pretty bizarre to drive it.
I say go ahead with Halloween. Why not?
