Rose, I thank you for dropping by, but I have to let you and everyone know that I do not have a daughter. When I worked as a photography intern in the summer of 1990, I always had my camera with me. I happened to see this little girl on the way home from work and had to stop.
It was my first and only time to get the lead photo on the front page (back then the cover picture was the only one that newspaper printed in color).
Thanks, everybody, for taking a look, and especially to those who commented. We’re all busy and too often don’t take the time to say positive things to each other.
Moksha - Ah, yes, it does remind me of that cool water effect.
Brian - I often wonder where she is, too. I know her full name (as it was at that time) and address (had to get that information for subjects of photos), but now my reason for visiting that town (my grandfather) has moved to another state, so I may never follow up.
Selena - It is great fun. One night several years ago, we were eating at a lakeside restaurant. The lady accompanying my dad (he was divorced at the time) pulled out one of these stick-and-string bubble blowing kits on the back deck. Adults blowing bubbles. Whee!!
Dave - I found out about WW from Alvis. It seems like a cool thing, and I might just do it every week. I’m not sure yet how it will distinguish itself from my usual Pic of the Week (Friday), except that the latter usually includes an entire post relevant to the subject.
Mark that is so cool. What a great shot of your daughter. Wecome to WW.
Ps: I like your about me. :)
Your first WW and already I am shamed. :(
Seriously, though, very cool pic.
Tell your daughter I said “hi.”
!
Jeepers, Mark, I never knew you had a daughter! What else haven’t you let on about you and your family, huh? Or is “Mark” even your real name?!
Sincerely,
Simon
(my REAL name!)
PS — surface tension rocks!
Okay, wordless no longer.

The little girl and I were thrilled.
OH! My son would LOVE that bubble. He’s nuts for big bubbles like that. It looks like glass it’s so smooth.
Wonderful shot. Definitely front page worthy on a sunny Saturday.
Truly impressive, Mark. Makes me think of The Abyss.
Welcome to WW, and what a start!!!
I wonder were she is today? Great picture.
Oh yes! FUN!
Very cool pic!
What made you do a WW??
Wow that is stunning. I love the picture.
