Dinos and Ben Altered

Published by Mark Williams at 10:30 am under Kids, Photography

Sounds like we’re headed to a life-size dinosaur replica exhibit today. That sentence doesn’t exactly roll off the tongue. We had a surprise visit from a friend we haven’t seen in about five years (give or take).

No time to cover that right now, so here’s Dave’s version of the Ben photo I posted on Friday.

Ben in a Painting

Nice work, Dave. Thanks for sending it my way.

That is very impressive Dave….reminds me of a Norman Rockwell!

Exactly, that’s what I was going to say. Way cool. Speaking of Rockwell, and if you have a strong stomach, check out this site. There are three different posts with Rockwell paintings with funny (ok, crude) captions. If you don’t laugh and/or offended, I sincerely apologize.

(I tried using the link thing, got it all situated and was all proud of myself but they wouldn’t work. In fact the screen asked me where I found the site. Oh well. I thought I was getting this html stuff…)

You know Blitz, that’s EXACTLY what I told Mark when I sent it to him! *LOL*

Um, sorry about that 3rd link, it’s the same as the first one. I need to get some sleep… *grumbling*

After I left the above comment, didn’t he go and post another bunch of Rockwell parodies… Here it is if you’re interested.

    Blitz - What Dave said.

Linda - Those were funny. I hadn’t looked at a Normal Rockwell in years, but after seeing those, I notice that his paintings seem like photojournalism. He’s not painting posed people, but capturing moments in time that tell a story. Many critics say he was a craftsman, not an artist, but it’s obvious to me he wasn’t merely painting by the numbers.

Regardless of all that, the captions were funny. Thanks for sharing.

I’m so glad you thought they were funny, I was afraid I was the only warp-job here…

That is a neat interpretation of the Ben photo. Way to go, Dave.

And Linda, delightfully tasteless Rockwell captions. You are very far from the only ‘warp-job’ here. I’m travelling warp 8.7 as I type this. So there.

I still contend that we’re all brothers and sisters of different mothers…

Linda, you mean we have the same father?!

    Sick!

  11. Daveon 29 Jan 2007 at 9:39 am

Wow, I’m really glad everyone liked the picture! *S*

Isn’t that what warp-job means, sick? I thought I made up the term and that’s what I meant it to mean…
