All Systems Go

Published by Mark Williams at 9:11 am under Kids, Marriage, True Story

Ben slept about 12 hours last night, interrupted only by his mommy and daddy for some medicine.

He awoke with a textbook 98.6 F temperature (that’s 37 C for those so inclined).

Now we’re off to our final Christmas celebration of the year.

Overheard as I’m typing…

Ben: I don’t want to go to Tulsa.

Shannon: You’re going to get more presents in Tulsa. Are you sure you don’t want to go?

Ben: Yes, I do.

Happy New Year, everybody!

Even I would go to Tulsa for more presents… ;-)
    HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Wow…that’s quite a bit of driving for the Clan Williams. And I think alot of it will be the same drive as last weekend if I’m picturing your starting point accurately. Our two fams are drives away…but in opposite directions so as to vary the trip.

Very glad to hear Ben’s feeling better.

Have a safe trip and I look forward to updates on your return. Happy New Year!

Sorry, but all I can think of is Steve Martin as “Ruprecht” in the movie Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, with a patch over one eye and banging pots and pans together, dancing all around and shouting, “OKLAHOMA! OKLAHOMA! OKLAHOMA! OKLAHOMA! OKLAHOMA! OKLAHOMA!!!!”

I hope Tulsa doesn’t do that for you too, else it’ll be a VERY interesting drive for your family. There’s always that one way to motivate young boys, eh? Enjoy the trip with your freshly recovered wee one!

Linda - Actually, you’d fit in well with that side of the family. Take that how you like.

Mokka-shocka - The route would be similar if we still were going back to northwest AR. As it is, though, only about eight miles are the same. So, variety, yes. Interesting? No.

Except that when we drive by the exits for Eufala, Shannon says, “Eufala, I picka you uppa.”

    Every time.

Simon - Ruprecht is one of my favorite comic characters of all time. Loved that scene.

I just ate homemade pizza, chocolate pie, divinity, chocolate fudge, and peanut butter fudge. I don’t much feel like running around banging pots, but my taste buds are screaming, “Oklahoma, Oklahoma!”

    Eufala, Shannon, LOL
I really have no idea how to take that… I would like to take it as a compliment, of course. I would very much like you to tell me specifically how you meant it. And then I will take it as I like anyway ;-)
Glad Ben’s okay and hope he stays that way.
    Wishing you a safe trip.
Hope you’re having a great time. By the sounds of the food, you must be in Heaven.
Happy New Year with Love to all of you.

Linda - My lady is a funny lady, that’s for sure.

Ben’s not quite 100 percent, but he’s full speed.

This year’s almost over, and I sit while family folk watch “The Breakup,” (which Shannon and I missed while getting Ben ready for bed). Jennifer Aniston’s crying. Or, pretending to, anyway.

And to you my friend! *S*
