My Left Foot (Pic of the Week)

Published by Mark Williams at 11:47 pm under Kids, Photography

Ben’s first picture with my camera.
Subject: Chair leg, dining nook rug, Ben’s left foot.
Date: September 23

Ben’s first picture with his mommy’s camera.
Subject: Daddy
Date: September 19

Ben shot a few more photos after these, of course, but I thought it more honest to show the actual firsts. His next effort with his mommy’s camera was considerably better, in part due to my pose. With my camera? Straight at the ceiling.

I guess it’s a good test of whether a beginner should buy a point-and-shoot or a digital SLR.

Have a great weekend.

I see great promise… Very interesting perspective. Was he hanging off your head? Composition is great, too. And the subject matter? A little off-beat but interesting nonetheless. I wouldn’t invest a lot in darkroom equipment for him just yet though…

Oh wait, that’s Ben’s foot. Gah. I should really wake the hell up before I touch a keyboard. I think I’ll come back here after coffee and make less of a fool of myself then. Maybe.

Hey! He’s not into those sissy pictures of landscapes or people having fun or holding pumpkins… he likes abstract things like feet, and ceilings!

Sheesh… you’re gonna give the kid a complex! *LOL*

Linda - Yep, it was Ben’s foot. I called the post “My Left Foot” in homage to the great movie of the same name, and as Ben’s name for his picture.

Come on back after coffee. Nothing new will be here (except maybe some comments), but a fresh set of eyes (and properly stimulated brain cells) might help.

Dave - That’s right. He’ll have his stuff in a gallery before I know it.

If Ben can pick up a piece of chalk and scribe the answer to math questions with that left foot of his, I’ll be mighty impressed!

Simon - Now that, indeed, would be impressive. I’m sure you’re partial to its being the left foot, too.
