Flying Cars Video

Published by Mark Williams at 9:13 pm under Kids

When boys get together, they play. When men join in, they move all the boys’ stuff out of the way and setup the toys they never had as kids. Then they use the boys as props, while videotaping the whole thing. Naturally, one of the men goes home, edits the video, and sets it to guitar music the other man composed and performed (which they recorded years ago using a standard computer microphone).

It sounds like a typical weekend to me. See what you think.

Just “push” the play button below. If you can’t view this on the page, then right-click (or apple-click?) here to save it.

You’re seeing Ben, his first cousin, and my older brother. You’re hearing that same brother playing an upbeat blues number he created.

Using your own children as toys AND as a thinly veiled excuse to play with their toys.

    I am totally into that!

*ROTFLMAO* The ending was WAY funny!

    But… There’s a new Oxymoron! Upbeat Blues!

Great job on the guitar too!

Simon - It’s actually difficult to find just plain, simple Hot Wheels track, without the fancy contraptions like in this video. So, we guys suffer through. ;-)

Dave - You mean the Incredibles’ son mask? Yeah, that was pretty cool, because it was a visual enhancement that also added some protection. Ben has never seen The Incredibles, but he still loved wearing the mask.

Yeah, upbeat blues. Who would have thought? My bro might not like the selection, because we were just playing around when we recorded that, but I wanted to use some original music instead of something copyrighted.

Man, I enjoyed that one. Hilarious. The Slo-mo of the car flying was GREAT. The last shot of the car flying over Ben with the foam mask on was priceless.

Hey…if you need some more original music, I’d love to send you some. I need to record some stuff on my SRV that I’ve been working on anyway, so it might work well with some future videos.

That was a blast though. It’s going to be great when they get old enough to try some outdoor stunts. LOL

Chuck - I’m glad you got that thing out. The kids had a blast.

I would love to use some more of your original stuff. I was a little bummed that Google video converted the sound to mono, because I had applied an effect that made the sound “wider” (don’t know the technical term). I also did a version of this video with your rendition of “Crazy Train,” but it had the noise of the boys playing in the background, and that made it too incongruous with the video (one of the harmonics hits was synched to the slow-mo car jump — it was cool).

If you’ve got a way to record your stuff, then send it on! Let me know, and I can work out a way for you to send the .wav files.

I’ll send you some links to some great portable recorders.
