Good entry, Mark. Intriguing look at Stivin's personality, and his pathology (or is it a "gift"? guess I should say ... "curse"!)

His reflections kind of remind me of Joseph Duncan's Fifth Nail blog ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joseph_Edward_Duncan )

That guy is just plain creepy!

Oh, and I hope that weasle Gaither just jumps off the cliff and gets it over with. (Just kidding! Don't know why I said that!)

That is so wierd, b/c when I posted my comment, it was right after Dave's and showed only 2 comments when I left the site (or at least I thought it did!) - now I come back and you & Simon both have comments before mine. Strange - makes me look like I'm repeating stuff that you & Simon just said - like I'm blonde or something!

Simon and Wife - You two must have been typing your comments at the same time, but babe, you were more long-winded, so he beat you to the typo. I fixed, because I am allowed to fix typos -- but not plot holes. That would be cheating and a misrepresentation of this method of writing a story. I think.

Dave - I think he had tea with dinner and coffee after dinner. (Am I right, babe?)

Mark/Babe - Great entry! I'm especially impressed with this one, since you had nothing written when you walked into the computer roon at 9:00 last night. I like how you went deeper into the "soul stealing" aspect. A couple of typos, though - the first one in the sentence "Many of them felt close to him and respected that h never sounded condescending." I think you meant he, not h. Well, shoot, after looking back through it, I can't find the other one - anyone else catch it?

<i>"Many of them felt close to him and respected that h never sounded condescending."</i>

Missed an "e" in the "he" in that sentence. Nit-picking.

Nice to see more of Stivins's motives cropping up here at the end. A little more insight into the man and references back (forward?) to TWAK.

Dave - Small blunder on my part, I guess. When he remembered servers looking at him strange for ordering tea without ice, it was a continuation of the preceding paragraph, not a depiction of what was happening right then. Of course, he probably had tea with his chicken fried steak, and then had the "after-dinner coffee," um, after dinner (which also would be after the tea).

Did I miss something??
