Where RV Now?
See my second installment of “Avenger’s Lament,” a tale set in the U.S. Civil War, over on A Storied Man.
Where RV Now?
Remember when the in-laws (I’m blessed with two sets) had all that RV trouble before they reached our house? They just returned home Sunday, 5-week trip now over, and they pulled into their driveway with a different RV than they had when they left.
Two days after their visit with us, their air conditioner went out again. At some point during their long trek around Texas (it’s friggin’ huge, in case you have never looked), they decided to give up the RV for another. Found a deal they couldn’t refuse, apparently. I hope this RV treats them more kindly because, although they are not what I consider old, their energy and money (and potentially our inheritance?) does not need to be spent on a rambling wreck. Is that a trademarked term? It seems some university uses it. Oh well. I’m sure it will garner some search engine hits.
Speaking of search engines… my “RV There Yet?” post has led some Google searchers to my blog, thanks perhaps to their search for a blog called RVThereYet.org, which chronicles a 50-something couple’s roving ministry. My in-laws are not these people.
Open Heart Update
Shannon’s mother moved from the Critical Care Unit to a regular room today. Nurses will begin taking her for short walks in the halls. She is on the lowest level of oxygen, which is a very good sign.
After Ben and I left the local in-laws’ house Tuesday night, Shannon went back to the hospital. She was very glad she did, as her mom looked much better. She was loopy as you please, but much better in both appearance and comfort.
I was hoping she would have a chance tomorrow to wander down the hall to a point where Ben can see her. That would make both of them feel better. Shannon said that probably won’t happen soon. I’m going ahead with my Ben video tonight to send for the VCR in her hospital room.
Thanks to everyone who has wished her a speedy recovery. I’ll keep you updated without indundating you with details.

Excellent news! She’ll love the Ben video too.
Ask Mary Beth how the lobotomy went. It usual to feel a little loopy, from what I’ve heard. :)
