Obligatory Kid Pic

Because sometimes, yes, they are cute enough to share it with the world. Photo by the missus, by the way.
I had my flash mounted on my Stroboframe and had been playing with different bounce flash angles, and it’s pretty easy to tell it’s not direct flash (hint: look at where the shadows are and what parts of the box are dark). It was pretty badly underexposed, too, so I punched it up with the GIMP, and for kicks converted it to B&W. She ended up with a decent shot. I taught her everything she knows about photography (juts out chest). Problem is she actually has some artistic talent and the gumption to press the shutter instead of futzing with controls, so I think the teacher’s becoming the pupil.
Speaking of pupils… notice how Ben’s eyes look like black holes. That’s a symptom partially of the flash angle, and of my clumsy B&W conversion effort.
And it looks like Ben forgot what they always used to tell us before school photo time — don’t wear black or white.
I sit now in some friends’ house, Ben and their daughter sleeping upstairs (in separate rooms). J is finding a DVD that follows Eric Clapton’s career from the late ’60’s to today, while his wife J shows Shannon some photo albums. Then we’ll all play some Scene-it. Life, overall, is pretty good.

Boy, I’m glad you said Ben and their daughter were in seperate rooms! *LOL*
Sounds good bud… have a great week!
